about

The Endless Wait is a song about my experience being pregnant with my son. As I watched my bellow grew I wondered who this little life was inside me and pondered the incredible connection that this tiny person had with family members and ancestors he would never know.

lyrics

The open hand that hides your face
A sudden movement then it’s gone without a trace
The open door, the endless wait
For you

Another minute, another day
Another movement that ignites and drifts away
The fading sunlight, the growing dark
We wait, we hope, we pray.

Who are you that grows in me?

How could someone who has not even been born assemble generations of people with his tiny heartbeat?

The roots of our family tree wind and entwine growing longer and stronger, tying together forever your father and me

And my mother and her mother before her whom you’ll never even meet are indelibly and unstoppably part of you

And all the pain and healing - of who I was and who I am, and who I’m mean to be will be written in you

OUR STORY LIVES ON IN YOU.

The open hand that hides your face
A sudden movement then it’s gone without a trace
The open door, the endless wait
